Jordanne opened the meeting by welcoming everyone and introducing Mrs. Watt. Mrs. Thom asked that all Pupil Representatives wear their council badges every day inSchool so that all the pupils knew who they were.

Matters arising from previous meeting Vandalism There is writing on the wall beside the kitchen door on the outside and there is bad language written on the yellow unit panel.    John to be advised.

Playdale Requests for swings in the playdale – this is not allowed due to Health and Safety. There are people pushing in the playdale – let the playground staff know and they willhelp.

Ball Box Complaints that the infants go into the Ball Box once the older ones go back to class atlunchtime – this is not a problem as the older ones are inside and can’t use it anyway.Playground staff need to remind children the rules for the Ball Box.

Minutes were approved

School Lunches Mrs Watt asked if everyone had received their new school lunch menu and explained that this menu was to last until the Easter Holidays.   The menu is on a trial basis to see if it works and if there are any complaints could they please be passed onto her and she will see what she can do.   Vegetarians need to see Mrs. Watt so she can cater better for them if they require schooldinners. She reminded the council that school dinner tickets could be purchased every morning at 9 am.  and any child who is late can get a ticket from the kitchen.   She asked that no-one turn up without a ticket as it causes long queues at the till. Some children are throwing food in the basin instead of the bucket and asked if older ones could help the smaller children with this and if there is lots of children around the bucket could they please form a queue to make it easier for everyone.

Plastic tops on juice bottles are being left on the floor and this is dangerous for the dinnerladies  tidying up at the end of lunch time as they could slip and fall on one of these.   Could the children please make sure they put the tops back into their lunch boxes.

2. Cheese sandwiches can not be supplied everyday unless specificially requested for by a child’s parent.

Stickers will be handed out at the end of the week to children who eat all their lunch everyday,  behave well in the dinner hall and have good manners.

Mrs Watt and the Dinner Ladies would like to say a big thank you to all the helpers in the Dinner Hall at lunch time it has made a huge difference and is greatly appreciated.

If there are any problems Mrs Watt would like the children to come and see her and she will try her best to help as best as possible.

Jordanne enquired if school lunch hours could be swapped over .   Mrs Thom explained that the older pupils have the first lunch time as they manage to eat their lunch faster and they can also cope with the longer afternoon in class.

Funding available from Play Monies  Mrs Thom advised that there are funds available to put equipment out in the playground. An application form needs to be completed with ideas and this has to be submitted by 30th November 2007. Mrs Nelson is to have a meeting on Tuesday 13th November at 12.45 with Pupil Council to hear the suggestions and will pass these onto Mrs. Thom for submission.  Mrs Thom proposed that Deputy Representatives could attend future meetings and that they could have badges made for them to wear also.    This was seconded by Jake (P4B).  This proposition was carried by acclaim.

Sally Henderson Memorial. Suggestions were made to have a bench with her name, date of birth and death on it or a Certificate which could be presented to the Best Cycling Proficiency Pupil for the year as Sally was heavily involved with the running of this.

AOCB Requests from classes When will projectors be up and running – Mrs. Thom has spoken to the Councillor and told her we had had the projectors since February and they had still to be installed.   She was told we were in a queue and the work would be done as soon as the funds were available.

When will Loirston Leaders start again – will ask Mark Payne when this will resume.

More soap needed in Blue Girls Toilets – Advised there was new cleaners starting soon and  they should resolve this problem.

Hygiene in toilets is not of a good standard – Teachers could remind the children to flush the toilet and wash their hands when visiting the toilets.

Locks broken in cubicles in Blue Girls toilets also graffiti on walls – Toilets are due to berefurbished when money is made available.

 Meeting closed at 2.30 pm.
